Funny you post this! Because I've looked at this exact ad about, oh, 38 times so far. Looked it on phone, tablet, laptop, desktop. Would have looked at car but it's so far fro me. Maybe Doug can go look at it for me.

I found a local car that SEEMED like a great deal. Same car with a little bit more miles, one year older, but cheaper. The kind of car that might be worth selling a kidney for.

So I went and test drove it Saturday. I didn't gusta. I didn't gusta one bit.

The car didn't seem to pull at all. I've driven an F430 many times and it revs even faster than my E90 M3. But not this car. It seemed slow. And I don't think it was because stick feels different than F1. The engine just didn't seem to be running properly. How that happens at 12K miles, I dunno... I think the owner literally tried to hurt this car because there was one huge sign of abuse - it has been repainted! No accidents on Carfax. Yet there was evidence of overspray everywhere. And imperfections in the paint on metal surfaces. It looked like the owner had taken cans of Rossa Corsa paint and given them to a budget body shop to apply.

Such a shame. I hope someone doesn't miss the issues and buy this car for list price.

Good call, I'd steer clear of that F430. How much abuse did this car receive if it needs to be repainted and it isn't driving right with only 12k? And it wasn't on the carfax? AND the respray was subpar?? Definitely not a car worth buying no matter how nice the price is.

I'd check out the linked F430 for you, but it's quiet the drive from NoVa lol. It's probably my favorite car on autotrader right now because it's reasonably attainable and it's the perfect combo. Rossa Corsa on beautiful tan leather with a gated shifter? What could be better!?

I tried finding a soft top for you but I gave up after seeing all the F1's...

FL is just so damn far. If I wasn't so busy at work right now then I would enjoy the trip. But it's so slammed that I don't even do anything on the weekends. I just wörk and Öppö...

My guess was that the owner of the jacked up car pissed off his wife/gf so she dumped battery acid all over his car. Probably cheated on someone.

exactly. that sellers is taking advantage of our out in the open love of Manuél. it was better when our love of Manuél was in the closet. sellers used to think F1 was an advantage. now that everyone is loud and proud about their love of Manuél it has ruined the market.

the price deltas can be so big that it's cheaper to go F1 and just pay for it to be repaired/replaced down the road using the savings from the initial purchase

Haha yeah, if you saw my post earlier I stumbled into a little meet yesterday night. Didn't end up getting home til a little past 2. I felt like I was 16 again driving through the neighborhood with my lights off so I wouldn't wake the neighbors. That was a bad call, I already woke up early on Sunday to go to C&C so I'm on borrowed time right now, I'm just gonna knock out eventually.

I'd still hold out for a Manuél, but damn, if the price gap is SO big that replacing it is cheaper that would be hard to justify.. Still worth it if you plan on keeping it for a long time.

During Ramadan when I was fasting and couldn't drink coffee in the mornings, I'd just browse Oppo until I was awake enough to get ready.

the whole month consisted of me eating/drinking water until 3-4 am, coming home from work and sleeping until around 8:30 when we could eat again.

It's not the eating that gets to you, it's the drinking! I've gotten used to it because I've been doing it since I was a kid, but the first week is always tough haha.

Cigars are really just a special occasion thing for me. At first I wasn't a fan, but when I was in Toronto I had this amazing hand rolled Cuban.

Last time I smoked one was my cousins wedding, time before that was family members graduation, and (my favorite) time before that was when I bought my E90!

Indeed they are! The salesmen at the Mercedes dealer gave me this really cool Zippo with the Benz star engraved into it. I HAD to smoke a cigar with that.. It ended up getting stolen :( I get free car washes for life at that dealer and one day I cashed one in because there was tons of salt on/in my car (damn VA winter) and I guess someone snatched it. Didn't even realize it was missing until New Years eve when I was looking for it to light some fireworks.

I'm guessing the lock. I replaced my windshield last winter and it was surprisingly cheap. Well, it was cheaper than what I was expecting haha. I went aftermarket and got a better glass. OEM was incredibly soft and pits really easily.

Yeah you must really know about cars to steal the roof racks off an audi. Those are always in demand.

There is one blue F1 44K miles spider for sale in Nor Cal for $94K. The sales guy emailed back and said that the sale is pending.

I know no Manuél but damn, a spider for 5 figures? What's funny is that all of my current cars have between 40-50K miles and still feel very new. A 44K mile Ferrari isn't actually high mileage, it just is because everyone is scared to buy a car with over 15K miles.

Well a clutch is gonna cost between $3900-6000. And let's say you're really unlucky and the hydraulic actuator fails, that'll set you back $10,800 just for parts. It gets worse..

The M3 has a gray interior :( but it has a CF roof and is only $34k! It had 64k on it which is higher than I'd like but it's local!

It's hard to guess because there's no way to know how the previous owners treated the car

If the car was treated well then you probably don't need the warranty

But if it was abused in the warranty could come in handy

I bet I'd have to step up to an OEM M3 performance exhaust if I want to stay in warranty. If I bought one of those lower mileage E90's I wouldn't go for the warranty.

I don't think wheels will, especially if I go OEM ZCP.

The carmax E92 M3 was a bust.. Ask me about it later in the day, I'm still not sure why I'm up at 3:48am.

I'm sad because on my way home from the test drive I saw an alpine white E92 M3 with the OEM performance exhaust. That sound..!

I'm still totally undecided. It sucks. I found a low mileage (low 20's) Quattroporte for $34k. It made me lol but then I noticed this sweet 911 the dealership had. Then I looked at an RS5... Then I looked at a 360 which led me to look at a 328 to match my 328i :)

Yeah the M3 just felt abused. It's a year newer than my 328i and has similar mileage but it was filled with rattles and the grey leather was stained. It was definitely a car that was modded then parted out and returned to stock before being sold. It wasn't a BAD car per say, it just wasn't as good as I thought it would be.

It really is madness, I'm meeting my family for lunch later and the restaurant just so happens to be by Porsche, Audi, Mercedes, Mclaren, and other awesome dealerships..

Carmax is crazy! My cousin was looking at an A4 in "perfect" condition which apparently means having curbed (one of the rears were bent too!) wheels, no windshield washer fluid, incorrect wipers installed, AND mismatched nearly bald tires. They were asking $250 over KBB's perfect condition! He pointed all that out and they basically said we won't pressure you into buying the car.

He laughed his way to the Jeep/dodge dealership a few miles away and ended up buying a B8.5 A4 with 16k less miles on it and all the options for a few hundred less after a lot negotiating.
